Bus driver from Germany stopped at Merdare with €63,400 in undeclared cash

At the Merdare border crossing, Kosovo Customs discovered €63,400 that had not been declared.

The discovery was made during detailed inspections conducted by customs officers on buses entering Kosovo. Among the vehicles inspected was a bus operating on the Germany–Kosovo route.

The money was found hidden inside the bus driver’s personal luggage.

According to the Customs statement, the funds have been seized and procedures have been initiated for further handling of the case in accordance with the legislation in force.

Kosovo Customs once again called on travelers to declare the amounts of money they carry across the border, as required by law.

According to the statement, intensified checks at border crossings will continue to prevent the illegal transportation of money, as well as other forms of cross-border crime.
