Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova receives Chief Negotiator Zulfaj

During his visit to Sofia, where he took part in the “EU Meets the Balkans” Forum, the Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Mr. Jeton Zulfaj, was received by Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Velislava Petrova-Chamova.

The discussions focused on bilateral relations between Kosovo and Bulgaria, cooperation at the regional level, and Kosovo’s path toward membership in the European Union.

Mr. Zulfaj expressed his gratitude for the support Bulgaria has provided to the Republic of Kosovo at various stages of its state-building, as well as for Bulgaria’s contribution to strengthening security and stability in the region.

The Chief Negotiator also underscored that progress on Kosovo’s application requires active support from Bulgaria.

For the Republic of Kosovo, obtaining candidate country status and launching EU accession negotiations remain key priorities.
