Berisha warns NATO: After the investigative commission was blocked, evidence will be handed over to SPAK

The Democratic Party will send NATO and international partners information related to suspicions of arms trafficking through the state-owned company KAYO and the company of Israeli businessman Ron Yeffet.

The decision came after the Socialist majority rejected the request to establish a parliamentary investigative commission. Sali Berisha said the documents would also be handed over to SPAK, an institution he has described in his statements as a section of the Socialist Party.

“We will hand over all our evidence to the institutions, to SPAK, but we will also send it to the institutions of the North Atlantic Alliance and our partners. We will inform all the defense ministries of NATO member countries and the Alliance itself,” Berisha said.

The Democratic Party leader claimed that businessman Ron Yeffet had benefited from 45 million euros from the state budget after his business partner, Arjeta Puca, appeared on Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast.

“Immediately after Rama’s television appearance, Miss Armored Vehicle pledged that she would arm the Albanian army. Overnight, Roni Yeffet became the owner of all the existing construction projects in Shkozë and at the former Tractor Plant, and became the owner of 45 million euros from the state budget.”

Berisha also accused former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni of having been placed at Rony Yeffet’s service. According to him, the businessman had also exercised complete control over former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

“Ermal Balluku, or Ermal Raketa, is now on the committee. All these changes that you will hear about were made with Lubi Balluku’s signature. Yeffet controlled Lubi Balluku completely, including all the signatures. Vlora Hyseni has stated that she was living with Roni Yeffet. This mafia scheme also puts NATO at risk.”

The Democrats have asked SPAK to summon Edi Rama to provide explanations. They accuse the prime minister of establishing a mafia scheme in the defense sector through the approval of laws and decisions, which, they claim, undermines national security and relations with NATO.
