Berisha: The government built a pyramid scheme with public funds, Ron Yeffet controlled Balluku and now Vlora airport is being targeted

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government of building a mechanism in which public funds, private companies and state projects are intertwined in a scheme that, according to him, burdens Albanian citizens.

Berisha said it all began after an Edi Rama podcast in which an entrepreneur introduced as Arjeta Puca, or “Miss Armored Vehicle,” claimed to manufacture military equipment, including armored vehicles.

According to him, after the prime minister’s televised appearance, she appeared in Kashar with an armored vehicle and declared that she would arm the Albanian army.

According to the DP leader, laws and decisions were immediately approved afterward, paving the way for the creation of a “pyramid scheme” to the detriment of citizens.

He claimed that the companies involved had moved shares, property and public funds through mergers, sales and transactions among a network of companies.

Berisha said that Ardi Veliu’s company merged with Ron Yeffet, transferring 80 percent of the shares to the latter, which, according to him, were linked to public or state funds.

He accused Yeffet of becoming, within a short period, the owner of construction projects in Shkozë and at the former tractor factory complex, as well as of 45 million euros from the state budget.

He added that Yeffet also benefited from land illegally acquired in the private sector, while the companies were transferred among one another for symbolic sums of as little as 1 euro. Berisha described these changes as being in breach of the standards and conditions that had been established.

Referring to statements by Pirro Vengu, who had said that the contracts were reviewed by the Defense Committee, Berisha claimed that in reality the process was controlled by Ron Yeffet and Edi Rama.

He said that Ermal Rraketa is now also part of this committee, while all the changes, according to him, were signed by Belinda Balluku.

Berisha also raised accusations concerning Vlora airport, declaring that the “black hands” had now reached this project as well. He also mentioned Ergys Agasi’s hippodrome, claiming that taxpayers’ money was being used for private structures.

“Just as the wine that cost 33,000 euros a bottle and belonged to Rama could not be confiscated, neither could the hippodrome,” Berisha said. In conclusion, he accused Ron Yeffet of controlling Balluku “from head to toe,” declaring that all the signatures were linked to this scheme.
