Berisha Raises Questions Over Agasi’s Detention: A Real Arrest or a Conditional Surrender?

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha reacted on social media following the arrest of Ergys Agasi, who was detained while with Uljan Shpataraku. He questioned the circumstances and the manner in which the detention was carried out.

According to Berisha, Agasi was “Edi Rama’s all-powerful coordinator with criminal organizations.” The Democratic Party leader called for clarification on whether this was a genuine arrest or a negotiated surrender subject to conditions.

Berisha also called for international monitoring of the judicial proceedings against Agasi.

In his response, the Democratic leader portrayed the event as the arrest of Ergys Agasi, whom he called the “Godfather’s” coordinator with organized crime.

Addressing his followers, Berisha said that Agasi’s detention near his villa, in the company of Uljan Shpataraku, whom he described as “the cartels’ notorious soldier,” was a welcome development, but one that also raised a series of questions.

The first doubt he raised was whether the detention was genuine or a conditional surrender. According to Berisha, this question arises because Agasi slept at his home almost every night and, on occasion, in Manzë, while no one seemed to remember that he was a wanted person.

Berisha’s second question was whether this was an action by the “Shtriga” to ensnare not only Rama, whom he claimed she already has in her grip, but also Linda, whom he described as the patronage boss of AKSHI, using the French expression “cherchez la femme.”

The Democratic Party leader claimed that Ergys Agasi, in his role as the all-powerful coordinator of Edi Rama, whom he called “Albania’s Godfather,” maintained ties with criminal organizations and Albanian drug cartels. He added that Agasi exercised control over the ministries, AKSHI, SHISH and the police.

For these reasons, Berisha described Agasi as one of the most dangerous mafiosi not only in Albania and the region, but also beyond, while stressing that international monitoring of his trial is urgently needed.
