Well-known journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed new details about the operation to arrest Ergys Agasi, who was taken into custody on August 26 in Durrës after being wanted for several months.

According to Lala, Agasi frequently traveled between Elbasan and Durrës, while BKH agents and police structures had monitored his movements and meetings over the previous two weeks.

“He traveled from Elbasan to Durrës. All the meetings he had over the past two weeks were monitored,” journalist Lala said.

Lala also said: “Agasi had established strong connections within the State Police, especially at the time when this structure was headed by Ilir Proda.”

Lala also said: “Agasi had influence within the ranks of the police and considered himself untouchable. It was even said that he had influenced police appointments. He was considered to wield extraordinary power within the State Police.”

According to the journalist, when he was stopped by police forces, Agasi did not physically resist, but reacted with harsh language.

“When he was stopped, there was no resistance, but there was a reaction using inappropriate language. He later understood what was happening and was forced to get out and comply with all procedures,” Lala said.

During the search carried out after his detention, according to information made public, two bags and approximately 4,000 euros were found.

Lala also provided another detail concerning a luxury vehicle that was found on the premises of a villa seized as part of the investigation. The vehicle was discovered while procedures were under way to rent out the property.
