Arben Kola calls for civil disobedience tomorrow outside Parliament: Eggs are democratic tools for confronting the government and corrupt MPs

The popular revolt against Edi Rama’s government has reached its 109th day, while opposition to corruption scandals and the capture of the state is expected to shift tomorrow to outside Parliament.

Activist Arben Kola called on citizens seeking political change and punishment for official corruption to join a powerful act of civil disobedience at 10:00. The gathering is planned to take place at the same time as the scheduled start of the parliamentary session.

According to Kola, confronting a corrupt government on the ground must be determined and uncompromising. He urged protesters, whenever a parliamentary session is held, to respond by blocking and symbolically pelting members of the governing majority through forms of citizen protest against the political class in power.

In his mobilizing message, the activist said the protest would begin tomorrow at 10:00 near Parliament, when the session will also be held. He stressed that every parliamentary sitting should be viewed by Albanians seeking civil disobedience as an opportunity to confront Parliament and the government, which he described as corrupt, while eggs and other now-familiar means of protest were presented as the most democratic forms of responding on the ground.
