Today, the situation appears to have become tense at the 58th protest against the government. Police are reported to have detained activist Arben Kola.

Arben Kola is known as one of the protest’s organizers, while the situation became tense as protesters gathered.

In footage published from the scene, Kola can be seen being dragged by his arms and legs by several police officers, while still holding the megaphone he had used to address protesters during the rally.

Meanwhile, police continue to keep the area around Parliament under control, where large numbers of security forces have been deployed. So far, there has been no official response from the authorities regarding the reasons for detaining the five people or the procedural steps that will be taken against them.

Arben Kola was dragged away by police officers and placed in a police vehicle.

The police intervention came after protesters changed the route of the rally due to the blockade set up by the State Police in front of Parliament, marching through the streets of the capital.

Protesters have positioned themselves near the intersection on Elbasan Street, where the first police detentions during today’s protest also took place.
