Bekim Sejdiu proposed for President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani welcomes candidacy

Following the agreement between the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) for Prof. Dr. Bekim Sejdiu to be a candidate for President of Kosovo, President Vjosa Osmani reacted in a public message.

Osmani welcomed Sejdiu’s candidacy, describing him as a person of seriousness, integrity and vision. She emphasized that he is an accomplished professional whom she has known personally after 25 years of cooperation.

The president highlighted his experience and commitment, while calling on elected representatives, when deciding on the next president, to be guided by the state interest and the preservation of institutional stability, Bota sot reports.

He is an experienced professional, a person of integrity and a figure who knows the state, its institutions and the challenges facing Kosovo firsthand. For me, Sejdiu is also a proven collaborator, with whom I have worked for 25 years. This includes working in my cabinet during the period when I served as president, so I know his dedication, character and sense of responsibility firsthand.

The final decision rests with the elected representatives of the Republic, while the significance of this choice is historic. The choice must be made with the Kosovo we aim to build, the state interest, institutional stability, the strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic alliance and democracy in mind.
