Police notice on the security measures plan

State Police/Security measures plan to guarantee public order and safety before, during and after the football match between the teams of Albania and San Marino, which will be played today at 20:45 at the “Air Albania” Stadium

The measures plan sets out the duties to be carried out by all State Police structures, drawing on their positive experience in planning, organizing and managing public order and safety during international events.

To ensure the smooth running of this event and facilitate vehicle traffic in the city of Tirana, today, from 17:00 until the end of the match, the State Police, in cooperation with the Tirana Municipal Police, will impose traffic restrictions on several roads near the stadium.

The roads that will be blocked from 17:00 until the end of the match:

-“Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, from the “Laguna” fast-food restaurant, near the former Dajti Hotel bridge;

-“Pope John Paul II” Street, at the RTSH intersection;

-“Dervish Hima” Street, near the U.S. Embassy;

-“Asim Zeneli” Street, near the U.S. Embassy;

-“Themistokli Gërmenji” Street, at the entrance;

-“Ismail Qemali” Street, at the RTSH intersection;

-“Lekë Dukagjini” Street, near the former Republican Guard headquarters (an access corridor to the designated parking area, only for vehicles authorized by the Albanian Football Federation);

-“Abdyl Frashëri” Street, near the University Bookstore intersection;

-At “Willson” Square, traffic will be diverted toward “Sami Frashëri” Street shortly before the end of the match.

Elbasan Street, the Ring Road and “Bajram Curri” Boulevard will remain open to vehicle traffic.

As part of the measures plan, State Police officers will carry out thorough checks on fans before they enter the stadium, with the aim of preventing the entry of banners containing racist messages, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnic materials, metal coins, umbrellas, lighters, mobile phone chargers, cosmetic products or tools, and other hard objects that could endanger the lives and health of participants.

We ask fans to arrive at the stadium entrances starting at 18:30, as the flow of supporters may mean that, shortly before the start of the match, they could lose the opportunity to enter the stadium.

To ensure the smooth running of this sporting event, the State Police has deployed hundreds of police officers, who will guarantee public order and safety and provide assistance and information if necessary, so that the event concludes without incident, in the interest of the country’s image.
