After the murder of “Tani i Ruzhdiut,” Skender Hita calls urgent meeting with structures in Saranda

After the serious incident that occurred this morning, in which a 44-year-old man was shot dead and a 73-year-old bystander was wounded, the General Director of the State Police, Senior Director Skender Hita, held an analysis meeting with the structures of the Saranda Police Commissariat.

During the meeting, Hita demanded that the investigation proceed quickly and in depth. He also called for a full assessment of the operational situation, starting from the most acute conflicts to the smallest clashes, the identification of individuals with criminal records, and the mapping of the criminal contingent present in the area, including its mobile elements.

The structures were asked for concrete results both in documenting today’s serious criminal event and in solving previous incidents.

Hita stated that, with the tourist season almost over, work will focus on intensifying investigations to document criminal events, including those from past years. He demanded an uncompromising crackdown on criminal groups operating in the city and the identification of all their illegal activities.

The General Director said the structures will be supported with human resources through the creation of specialized units for investigating serious crimes and combating organized crime, as well as with logistical backing. According to him, the professional response and commitment of the current structures remain essential.

As part of the investigation into the incident, checks are also being carried out with the help of drones in various territories of Saranda and Delvina. Meanwhile, the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecution, continues to administer every piece of evidence that may serve the investigation.
