After Skopje Storm, Centar Municipality Offers Up to 100,000 Denars for Damage

Following the severe weather that struck its territory on July 21, 2026, Centar Municipality has issued a public call for one-time financial assistance for affected residents and legal entities.

Under the adopted regulations, compensation is available to all individuals and legal entities that own real estate within Centar Municipality. The assistance covers only damage to the roofs and façades of individual and collective residential buildings.

One-time financial assistance of up to 100,000 denars may be awarded for each application submitted.

Goran Gerasimovski, mayor of Centar Municipality, said the municipal authorities responded immediately after the severe weather.

“All the services at our disposal were deployed on the ground from the very first day to support residents in dealing with the damage. Alongside the cleanup efforts, we also developed a systemic solution aimed at providing financial assistance to those hardest hit. The publication of the public call marks the launch of the formal procedure through which residents can apply for one-time assistance. Our goal is to ensure that no one faces the consequences of this natural disaster alone,” Gerasimovski said.

Applications may be submitted to the Archives Office of Centar Municipality at 1 Mihail Cokov Street. Applications will be accepted every working day from 09:00 to 15:00, and the deadline is two months from the date the public call was published.

Each application must be accompanied by evidence of the damage sustained and the other documents required under the public call.

The applications will be reviewed by a seven-member commission comprising representatives of the Municipal Council and the municipal administration. Based on the established criteria, the available budget funds and the extent of the damage to the buildings, the commission will assess the applications received and propose the corresponding amount of financial assistance.
