Accident at the Bulqiza mine where a 40-year-old man lost his life; police arrest the technical manager of the company (NAME)

Bulqiza police have arrested the technical manager of a mining company following an accident that resulted in the death of miner Ilir Kolaveri, an incident that occurred on August 1, 2026.

According to police, Përparim Koçi, 63, a resident of the village of Vajkal, was taken into custody. He served as the technical manager of the mining company.

Police suspect that the 63-year-old failed to comply with workplace safety regulations, resulting in Kolaveri’s fatal accident.

Specialists from the Bulqiza Police Station’s Crime Investigation Unit arrested citizen P. K., 63, a resident of the village of Vajkal, Bulqiza, who served as the technical manager of a mining company.

He was arrested after investigative actions carried out in connection with the incident that occurred on August 1, 2026, led to suspicions that, in his capacity as the technical manager of the mining company, he had failed to comply with workplace safety regulations, resulting in the fatal accident involving citizen I. K., 40.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office attached to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Dibër, for the criminal offense of “Violation of workplace safety regulations.”
