96 days of unwavering resistance as protesters demand Rama’s departure and warn of a peak on September 7 and 12

For 96 days, Albanians have continued their civic action against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama without interruption. The latest gathering began in Skanderbeg Square, from where demonstrators first headed toward the Prime Minister’s Office to deliver their messages, and then marched toward the Security Block.

Near Police Station No. 3 on Mine Peza Street, where the arrested activists are being held, protesters chanted, “All of Albania is with you.” The calls of “Release the boys, release the girls” and “Arrest Rama” filled the area as demonstrators demanded the detainees’ freedom.

The citizens present said they were determined that the movement would not fade until the unequivocal resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. They described this demand as non-negotiable and essential to the country’s future.

Meanwhile, attention has turned to September 7, which marks the 100th day of the protests. According to announcements made during Wednesday’s gathering, a much larger mobilization is planned for that day, with the aim of completely surrounding the Prime Minister’s Office.

Another key date is September 12, when the Albanian diaspora is expected to arrive in Tirana in large numbers to join the revolt. This day, too, has been announced as a moment of broad popular participation.

The protesters have repeatedly called for engagement in the days ahead and stressed that September 7 and 12 will be two of the most decisive stages of the civic action.
