77 kg of suspected drugs and weapons seized; two brothers arrested, son of one wanted over suspected criminal group links

Two brothers, aged 49 and 57, have been arrested by Shkodër police, while the 24-year-old son of one of them has been declared wanted. According to police, they are suspected of belonging to the criminal group targeted in the earlier operation “Polinomi”.

As part of operation “Polinomi 2”, police arrested brothers Gj. Sh., 49, a resident of the village of Abat, and K. Sh., 57, a resident of the village of Grudë e Re. The 57-year-old’s son, K. Sh., 24, was declared wanted.

During the operation, police searched the 49-year-old’s home, where they found and seized 10 kg of suspected Cannabis sativa.

A subsequent search of the 57-year-old’s home uncovered approximately 66.8 kg of suspected Cannabis sativa, divided into sacks, 1 pistol with a loaded magazine, 1 air rifle, ammunition for firearms and hunting weapons, weapon accessories, 1 metal baton, 2 two-way radios, 1 electronic scale and 3 optical devices (2 cameras and 1 monocular).

Operation “Polinomi 2” has been concluded following 4 months of investigation using proactive methods by the Narcotics Investigation Section.

Approximately 77 kg of suspected Cannabis sativa, 1 pistol, 1 air rifle, ammunition for firearms and hunting weapons, and other illegal items used in criminal activity have been seized.

Two individuals (brothers) have been arrested, while the son of one of them has been declared wanted. They are suspected of belonging to the criminal group targeted during operation “Polinomi”, conducted several days earlier.

As a result of investigations using proactive methods by the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, operation “Polinomi 2” was concluded as a follow-up to operation “Polinomi”. The following individuals were arrested in the act as part of this operation:

-Gj. Sh., 49, a resident of the village of Abat, and K. Sh., 57, a resident of the village of Grudë e Re (brothers). The 57-year-old’s son, K. Sh., 24, also a resident of the village of Grudë e Re, was declared wanted.

During the operation, police searched the 49-year-old’s home, where they found and seized 10 kg of suspected Cannabis sativa.

A subsequent search of the 57-year-old’s home uncovered approximately 66.8 kg of suspected Cannabis sativa, divided into sacks, 1 pistol with a loaded magazine, 1 air rifle, ammunition for firearms and hunting weapons, weapon accessories, 1 metal baton, 2 two-way radios, 1 electronic scale and 3 optical devices (2 cameras and 1 monocular).

Work continues to apprehend the wanted 24-year-old and fully document these criminal activities.

The case files were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Shkodër Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further action.
