77 kg of drugs seized in Shkodër: Two brothers arrested, one of their sons wanted; suspects linked to criminal group

Two brothers, aged 49 and 57, have been arrested by Shkodër police, while a search has been launched for the 24-year-old son of one of them. Police said the men are suspected of belonging to the criminal group targeted in the earlier operation “Polinomi”.

As part of operation “Polinomi 2”, police arrested the brothers Gj. Sh., 49, a resident of Abat village, and K. Sh., 57, a resident of Grudë e Re village. A search was also launched for the 57-year-old’s son, 24-year-old K. Sh.

During the operation, police searched the 49-year-old’s home, where they found and seized 10 kg of suspected Cannabis Sativa.

They then searched the 57-year-old’s home, where they found and seized approximately 66.8 kg of suspected Cannabis Sativa packed in sacks, a pistol with a loaded magazine, an air rifle, ammunition for firearms and hunting guns, weapon accessories, a metal baton, two two-way radios, an electronic scale and three optical devices (two cameras and a monocular).

Shkodër Local Police Directorate: Consecutive operations against drug-related crime and illegal possession of weapons.

Operation “Polinomi 2” has concluded following four months of investigations using proactive methods by the Narcotics Investigation Section.

Approximately 77 kg of suspected Cannabis Sativa, a pistol, an air rifle, ammunition for firearms and hunting guns, and other illegal items used in the criminal activity have been seized.

Following investigations using proactive methods by the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, operation “Polinomi 2” was concluded as a follow-up to operation “Polinomi”. As part of the operation, the following individuals were caught and arrested:

Gj. Sh., 49, a resident of Abat village, and his brother, K. Sh., 57, a resident of Grudë e Re village. A search was also launched for the 57-year-old’s son, K. Sh., 24, a resident of Grudë e Re village.

Work continues to apprehend the wanted 24-year-old and fully document these criminal activities.

The case materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Shkodër Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further action.
