60-year-old arrested in Lushnjë after wounding cousin in dispute / Name

A conflict between two cousins in Lushnjë ended with the serious wounding of a 71-year-old man, while the suspected perpetrator was arrested by police shortly after the incident.

According to the police, 60-year-old Izet Ymeri has been taken into custody, suspected of the criminal offense of “Intentional Serious Wounding.”

The incident occurred one day earlier in the “Loni Dhamo” neighborhood, where, after a conflict over weak motives, the 60-year-old allegedly stabbed his cousin, F. Y., aged 71.

As a result of his injuries, the 71-year-old was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he remains under medical care, out of danger to his life.

Thanks to the immediate response of police services, the suspected perpetrator was captured and arrested in flagrante delicto, while the knife used during the incident was also seized.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Fier, which is continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
