A large fire has engulfed the area above Dukat village, and it is suspected that the flames may have been deliberately started. The fire broke out at around 19:00 yesterday evening, initially in four separate spots.

During the night, the flames spread across a considerable area toward Mount Çika.
Firefighting forces arrived at the scene at 04:00 in the morning, while around 40 members of the Armed Forces have also been engaged in the operation under the direction of the Civil Emergencies structures.
From a distance, the scale of the fire appears substantial, with the flames continuing to spread across the mountainous terrain. The forces at the scene are working to contain the fire, but the difficult terrain is making the response more complicated, and the operation is expected to last for several hours.
Because of the lengthy time spent in the field, the firefighters and personnel involved in the operation need to be supplied with water and food.
At present, the wind is not strong, which is not favoring the further spread of the flames. Nevertheless, the situation remains complicated, as an increase in wind strength could threaten the fire’s advance toward Llogara National Park.
Firefighting forces and the military continue their intervention at the scene, with the aim of containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to other areas.
