“A united Europe is a stronger Europe, but the strongest Europe is the Europe that lives in peace and democracy,” President Davkova said.
The two-day meeting in Ankara, organized by Turkey, began yesterday with the presence of the leaders of NATO’s 32 member states, including the Macedonian president.
The summit is expected to send a signal of unity and solidarity among the allies, despite recent tensions in transatlantic relations.
At the center of the discussions is the building of the “NATO 3.0” vision, which envisages a leading role for Europe in conventional defense, while the US is expected to review its military presence on the continent.
