Education and Science Minister Vesna Janevska said that the process of optimizing the school network will not be followed by teacher layoffs, even though, according to her, the number of students has fallen by 17,000 over the past seven years.
At a press conference held at the Government, where she presented the report on the two-year work of the Ministry of Education and Science, Janevska said she is aware of the reactions related to the optimization, but stressed that no one will lose their job.

She recalled that, when she took office two years ago, she was faced with serious problems in the education system, while now, as she put it, attention is focused on improving quality in education and science.
“Two years ago we were faced with a cataclysm. We stopped the further decline and, through responsible and dedicated work, we are now improving the quality of education and promoting science,” Janevska added./Telegraph/
