Young woman in Skopje reports domestic violence, mother and stepfather under investigation

A shocking incident has come to light in the Macedonian capital, where a teenage girl complained to the authorities that she was being mistreated in her family environment by the very people who were supposed to protect her.

Preliminary information from the Ministry of Interior indicates that the minor reported physical violence against her by her mother and her partner in their shared apartment.

After receiving the report, law enforcement officers summoned the victim’s mother and stepfather for an informative interview to hear their side of the story and to document the claims made by the girl.

Law enforcement agencies are working to fully clarify the dynamics of this incident by analyzing every piece of evidence. Once this assessment is complete, necessary legal measures will be taken if the act is proven to be in violation of the Criminal Code or other applicable regulations.
