43-Year-Old Influencer Killed by Husband After Publicly Accusing Him of Pedophilia

Sara Gilson, a 43-year-old American influencer, was shot dead in Owasso, Oklahoma. Police suspect her husband, Jeremiah Duffey, from whom she was separating, was responsible.

The incident occurred just days after Gilson publicly accused her husband of pedophilia on TikTok.

The influencer, who had more than 30,000 followers on TikTok, posted a video on July 11 in which she openly made the allegations against Duffey.

In the video’s caption, she wrote: “Preparing for the day Netflix releases a documentary about my soon-to-be ex-husband, who I just discovered is a pedophile,” adding that she wished it were a joke.

About a month earlier, Gilson had obtained a protective order against her husband. This came after police informed her that he was under investigation for sexually abusing a minor.

The investigation shows that on June 9, a minor girl, accompanied by her parents, reported Duffey. He was the coach of the girl’s basketball team and is suspected of inappropriately touching her during an event held at an elementary school.

The incident was reportedly witnessed by another coach, who immediately notified the girl’s parents. Authorities said there had also been other reports of similar behavior by Duffey toward the same girl at different times.

After the report was filed, Duffey left, and police were unable to locate him.

On Thursday evening, authorities received an emergency call related to domestic violence. During the call, operators heard a woman screaming, followed by a sound resembling a gunshot.

A short time later, Gilson’s son contacted police from a neighbor’s home. He reported that his stepfather had shot his mother.

Officers who arrived at the home found Sara Gilson and Jeremiah Duffey dead. Both had gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and suspect that Duffey killed his wife before taking his own life.
