Young man in Korçë violated house arrest and was caught after three new robberies; authorities seek teenage accomplice

Police forces in Korçë have concluded an operation dubbed “Repeat Offenders,” arresting an 18-year-old man. He had previously violated a court order requiring him to remain at home under the “house arrest” measure imposed on him on charges of theft.

Investigative findings show that, while he was supposed to be confined, the 18-year-old committed three other criminal offenses of the same kind. In connection with these incidents, authorities have declared a 17-year-old accomplice wanted; he has a previous record for robbery.

According to official sources, specialists from the Korçë Police Commissariat analyzed complaints from several business owners who reported break-ins at their premises. This led to the discovery of two cases of theft involving force, which occurred on September 7, 2026, as well as an earlier case recorded on August 4, 2026.

A. H., an 18-year-old citizen, was identified and detained as the suspected perpetrator of these incidents, while the minor suspected of being his accomplice in the crimes remains at large. The investigation showed that during this period, A. H. was still under the “house arrest” security measure, imposed precisely for the same illegal activity.

The two individuals are suspected of taking cash and various goods from the three businesses. The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Korçë Court has received the procedural materials and is continuing its work to determine whether the pair may have been involved in other similar cases.
