Young man from Lushnja ends up in handcuffs, accused of two robberies and arson within 48 hours

A 36-year-old from Plug village in Lushnja, identified as Margiglen Gashi, has been detained by law enforcement following a coded operation named “Again”. The suspect, who has a prior criminal record for theft, is accused of two criminal incidents that took place on July 16 and 17, 2026.

According to preliminary investigations, the first incident occurred on July 16, when the 36-year-old allegedly took two car batteries. Less than 24 hours later, in the early hours of July 17, he secretly entered a bar in his residential area and took an amount of cash and a laptop. After the robbery, he is suspected of deliberately setting the bar on fire, causing extensive material damage.

Through swift investigative actions, specialists from the Lushnja Police Station managed to locate and arrest the suspected perpetrator in flagrante. The operation led to the complete resolution of both cases.

The materials of the case file against citizen M. G. have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of Fier, at the Court of First Instance, for further legal proceedings.
