Weapons and hundreds of bullets, three people arrested in Tirana

During the last 24 hours, as part of ongoing investigative and operational actions to identify and detain individuals who possess or trade firearms and consequently endanger citizens and public order, 2 operations in this direction have been concluded. Specifically:

Officers from the “Shqiponja” Special Force, in cooperation with specialists from the Crime Investigation Unit of Police Station No. 4, concluded the code-named operation “Shenja.” During this operation, on Dibra Street, citizens Sh. S., 31, and Sh. Sh., 43, were stopped while traveling by vehicle. Searches revealed that the 31-year-old was found with 1 firearm, a pistol with ammunition, while checks showed that the 43-year-old was under the security measure of “House arrest.”

Meanwhile, specialists from the Crime Investigation Unit of Police Station No. 6 finalized operation “Kodra,” during which citizen F. H., 69, was arrested. At his home, in the village of Kodër Kashar, 1 firearm, a pistol with ammunition, as well as 1 hunting weapon with 112 bullets, were found, which are suspected to have been kept with the intention of being sold.

The procedural file has been forwarded to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
