“We have been cursed with this government,” farmer says: Rama forced our children to emigrate, the land is being left fallow

Farmers in Dibër County are facing numerous problems, driven by the rising cost of agricultural inputs, higher fuel prices, and a shrinking labor force.

In the Gjorica plain, considered the most productive area of this county, farmers themselves say they are concerned that a considerable area of land has been left fallow. According to them, this is because many residents have left, while those who continue to live there do not have the necessary means to plant on a large scale.

Amid nonstop difficulties and a lack of sufficient income, farmer Liman Lleshi says he sees hope for change in the national protest.

Farmers also add that, as a result of the reduction in cultivated areas, they have not managed to benefit from the National Agriculture Scheme for 2026 either.
