Water Accident at Rana e Hedhun / Police Responds: Victim Accidentally Fell from Inflatable Boat and Died in Hospital

The State Police has issued an official statement regarding the serious boating accident that occurred this afternoon in the maritime area between Rrjoll and Rana e Hedhun.

According to official data, at around 4:15 p.m., while at sea, one of three people traveling in an inflatable boat is suspected to have accidentally fallen into the water and suffered serious injuries from the boat’s propeller.

Immediately after receiving the report, officers from the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit intervened at the scene. Klaus Gjergji, approximately 24 years old, was pulled from the sea by Border Police officers and urgently transported by ambulance to the hospital. However, due to the serious injuries he sustained, the 24-year-old was unable to survive.

The investigative team is continuing its work at the scene to fully clarify the circumstances and sequence of events surrounding this tragic incident.

Police statement:

“Rjoll, Shkodër – Preliminary information. At around 4:15 p.m., between Rjoll and Rana e Hedhun, offshore (a navigation area), one of the three citizens aboard an inflatable boat is suspected to have accidentally fallen from the boat and suffered serious injuries from the boat’s propeller.

Border Police and Maritime Police Unit officers went immediately to the scene upon receiving the report.

Citizen K. Gj., approximately 24 years old, was immediately transported by Border Police officers and then taken by ambulance to the hospital for medical assistance, but died as a result of his injuries. Meanwhile, the investigative team is continuing its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the case,” the Police announced.
