VLEN calls BDI a blocking factor for the Law on Fair Representation and accuses it of devaluing Albanian politics

The VLEN movement has leveled strong accusations against the Democratic Union for Integration, labeling it as a serious obstacle to the Law on Fair Representation and a force that is undermining the interests of the Albanian community through its actions.

In a statement distributed to the media, VLEN asserts that the leaders of the party in question are holding the legislative process hostage and that this approach openly violates one of the main pillars of the Ohrid Agreement.

According to the same reaction, the BDI elite bears the main burden for bipartisan governance over more than two decades, initially in coalition with SDSM and then with VMRO-DPMNE, a period characterized, according to them, by failed administration, widespread corruption and the lack of an authentic voice for Albanians.

“Albanian citizens no longer want to be represented by persons who have misused and embezzled European Union funds,” VLEN emphasizes, also mentioning the inability to ensure regular drinking water supply as clear proof of failure.

The accusation adds that a close circle around the head of BDI, Ali Ahmeti, is aiming for a new political rapport with VMRO-DPMNE, with the goal of escaping criminal prosecution for conduct during previous governments.

The reaction continues by dismissing the narrative that the position of Albanians is endangered solely because of the absence of BDI in government. According to VLEN, this perception is part of a genuine political strategy that serves the agenda of the Macedonian right and directly harms the Albanian cause.
