Violence During Italian Holiday: Husband Breaks Wife’s Nose and Rib, Then Holds Her Captive at Home

A holiday in Lido di Spina, in the Ferrara area, ended with the intervention of law enforcement officers and the arrest of a man accused of assaulting his wife.

According to preliminary information from Italian investigators, while the couple were staying at the resort, the suspect severely beat the woman, breaking her nose and fracturing a rib.

Immediately after the violent assault, he allegedly prevented the injured woman from seeking hospital treatment and threatened to kill her, forcing her to remain inside the home throughout the night despite her injuries.

The incident came to light a few days ago, in the early hours of the morning, when local residents heard screams coming from the apartment rented by the two holidaymakers, whose identities have not been disclosed. They immediately alerted the police.

Carabinieri officers promptly arrived at the scene and began gathering evidence, while the victim was taken to receive the necessary medical treatment.

According to an initial reconstruction of events, the conflict is believed to have stemmed from the husband’s suspicions that his wife was having an extramarital affair.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of domestic abuse, while investigations are continuing to fully establish the circumstances surrounding the case.
