Violence against a peer and the shared video, police respond: Three teenage girls were prosecuted, one of them had also been arrested earlier

Following strong public interest and the numerous reactions that came after a video of an incident that occurred on 08.06.2026 was published on social media, the Fier Local Police Directorate said it found it necessary to provide a full clarification of the actions taken by its structures and the measures adopted in connection with this case.

According to the official statement, on 08.06.2026 a 17-year-old girl appeared at the Fier Police Station together with her mother and reported that she had been assaulted and filmed at the home of citizen L. L., 19, by the latter and two other 15-year-old girls.

Immediately after the report, the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate treated the case as a priority and, in cooperation with the Prosecution, carried out all procedural and investigative actions provided for by law.

During the investigation, citizen L. L., 19, as well as the two 15-year-old minors, were brought to the Police Station, where they admitted that they had used violence against their 17-year-old friend for trivial motives.

After the completion of the actions, on 09.06.2026, the procedural materials were forwarded to the Prosecution for the criminal offense of “Other intentional injuries,” against the three aforementioned citizens.

Police also state that on 28.06.2026, crime investigation specialists, in coordination with the Fier General Jurisdiction Prosecution Office, arrested one of the 15-year-old girls involved in the assault on the 17-year-old. She was handcuffed after a report by her mother, who said she had been assaulted by her daughter and had suffered physical injuries.

After the relevant procedures were completed and based on the assessment of the competent authorities, the arrested 15-year-old was sent for treatment to a specialized mental health institution in Tirana.

The Fier Local Police Directorate emphasizes that all necessary investigative actions were carried out in accordance with the law and in close coordination with the Prosecution, which is the competent authority for the continuation of the criminal proceedings.

The State Police underline that they remain fully committed to treating seriously every case that undermines citizens’ safety, especially when minors are involved, acting with professionalism, impartiality and in full implementation of the law.
