VIDEO/ Tensions on the 89th day of the protest/ Sali Lushaj physically clashes with Dritan Goxhaj in the square

Sali Lushaj, former bodyguard of Sali Berisha and the father of Democratic Party National Council member and singer Arkimed Lushaj, became involved in a tense situation on the 89th day of the civic protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office.

Videos obtained by Top Channel show the moment when Sali Lushaj argues with several other citizens. It is unclear from the crowd whether there was any physical contact, reportedly because they were taking photos making the “two fingers up” gesture.

The Democratic Party symbol and the enthusiasm of Lushaj’s group did not sit well with the others, who viewed it as a provocation at a time when citizens have been chanting “Rama in Prison, Berisha in Prison” for 89 days.

A confrontation began between them, involving many people—some trying to separate them and others engaging in a verbal conflict. At one point, Dritan Goxhaj can also be seen there, and Sali Lushaj approaches him forcefully and angrily.

Because of the crowd and the distance of the camera, it is unclear whether there was physical contact between them, but it is clear that tensions rose significantly as many citizens and activists became involved.
