Video/ “Phantom” military aircraft crashes during a demonstration in Greece and explodes after impact

A “Phantom” fighter jet crashed in Tanagra, Greece, while taking part in an air show. The causes of the incident have not yet been clarified.

Top Channel correspondent Aleksandër Marku reports that an explosion was recorded immediately after the aircraft crashed. The incident occurred during the demonstration flight.

It is not yet officially known whether the two pilots activated the ejection system. The aircraft had completed the first phase of its performance, while during the second roll it is suspected to have lost control. It is also reported that the pilots may not have had the opportunity to press the ejection button, but this is expected to be determined after the operation currently under way is completed.

The accident was witnessed by thousands of people who had arrived for the “Athens Flying Week” event, which is held every September at this military airport.
