Video/American tourist robbed in the heart of Milan, incident happened just meters from a police station

In central Milan, an American tourist was the target of a robbery in an episode that has heightened concerns about safety in the city, as everything happened just a few meters from a police station.

According to Italian media, the tourist was walking at the intersection of Fosse Ardeatine and Tzeca Vecchia streets when he was attacked by two young men who tried to take his watch, which is estimated to be worth around 500 euros.

The incident was spotted by the carabinieri, who were monitoring the area in real time through the police station’s security cameras. Immediately afterward, officers intervened and managed to put one of the perpetrators in handcuffs.

This was an 18-year-old Spanish citizen of African origin, who was sent to San Vittore prison and faces a robbery charge.

Meanwhile, the other person who took part in the attack managed to escape, taking advantage of the chaos created during the police intervention, and took the stolen watch with him.

Italian authorities have opened an investigation to identify and arrest the second perpetrator, while the case has also drawn attention because the robbery took place in a central area of Milan, very close to a police station.
