Valon Prebreza dismisses the director of property after his arrest

The mayor of Fushë Kosovë Municipality, Valon Prebreza, has decided to dismiss the director of property, Gëzim Zogiani, who was arrested a few days ago during an operation by law enforcement agencies.

In a Facebook announcement, Prebreza said that the decision to remove Zogiani from office was being published as part of his commitment to transparent and accountable governance, as well as to taking a firm stance against any suspicion of abuse of official duty.

The mayor of Fushë Kosovë emphasized that the dismissal did not imply prejudging the former director’s criminal responsibility. According to him, determining guilt is solely the responsibility of the competent justice institutions, whose work, he said, is fully respected.

Prebreza also declared that Fushë Kosovë Municipality would continue its unrestricted cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office and every other responsible institution, with the aim of fully clarifying the case.

He added that there would be no political protection for any person, position or interest in the municipality, while the law and citizens’ trust would remain above every decision. “Accountability begins with concrete actions. The promise made to citizens will be kept,” Prebreza wrote.
