Up to 30 million euros a year: The contribution of emigrants to Kičevo

Emigrants contribute around 25 to 30 million euros to Kičevo every year. According to TV Gurra, this figure is even higher than the annual budget of the Municipality of Kičevo, making the diaspora one of the main supporters of the local economy.

During the summer months, Kičevo’s population almost doubles and the city comes alive as a tourist destination. Through their spending, support for local businesses, and investments in homes and properties, emigrants have a significant impact on the city’s economic development.
