Ulutaş and Jashari discuss security in Kosovo and cooperation between KFOR and the KSF

KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş held a meeting with the commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari.

According to a KFOR statement, the meeting addressed the security situation in Kosovo, as well as cooperation between KFOR and the Kosovo Security Force, in line with its original mandate.

Major General Ulutaş, whose mandate is expected to end in mid-October, praised the positive cooperation with the Kosovo Security Force during his period of service. He also reaffirmed KFOR’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all residents of Kosovo, in accordance with the mandate established by the UN.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo and freedom of movement; it does so at all times, impartially and in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security actors,” the KFOR statement said.
