Ulutas meets representatives of 31 KFOR contributing countries, with a focus on security in Kosovo and the mission’s priorities

KFOR Commander Ozkan Ulutas held a meeting with ambassadors, heads of mission and senior national representatives from 31 countries contributing to the mission.

According to the announcement, during the meeting he presented the current security situation in Kosovo, the commitments KFOR continues to carry out, and the mission’s main priorities for the coming period.

The same announcement states that the KFOR commander reiterated the mission’s commitment to ensuring a calm and safe environment for all residents of Kosovo. He also highlighted the importance of coordination and continuous cooperation with international partners, while expressing his sincere gratitude to all troop-contributing countries for their continued support.

The announcement says that Major General Ozkan Ulutaş, commander of the NATO-led mission in Kosovo (KFOR), received these representatives at KFOR headquarters at Camp Film City in Prishtina.

During the meeting, Major General Ulutaş presented the current security situation in Kosovo, the activities KFOR is currently carrying out, and the mission’s main objectives for the period ahead.

The statement also emphasizes that KFOR continues to implement its mandate, based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to help create a safe and secure environment, as well as to ensure freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo, at all times and in an impartial manner.

It further states that KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in line with their respective roles as security responders.
