Ukrainian Drone Attack in Russia Leaves 12 Dead and 39 Injured in Nizhnekamsk

A Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Nizhnekamsk, deep inside Russian territory, has killed at least 12 people, while 39 others were injured.

Local authorities announced the death toll from Monday’s strike.

Nizhnekamsk is a major Russian industrial center located more than 1,000 kilometers east of Moscow. One of the country’s large oil refineries is located in the city and is suspected of having been the target of the attack.

Footage published on social media shows large plumes of smoke rising from an outlying area of the city.

The strike marks another attack deep inside Russian territory, as Moscow and Kyiv have increased their use of long-range drones to target sites far from the front line.
