Two arrested over fires in Kombinat and Prush, one tried to evade police

Tirana Police have arrested two people suspected of starting two fires, one in the Kombinat area and the other in the village of Prush.

In Kombinat, 49-year-old E. K. is suspected of setting fire to some waste at Garibaldi Square. According to police, he tried to flee when he saw the officers. During a physical search, a knife was found in his possession and seized as material evidence.

Checks showed that E. K. had been subject to the security measure of “house arrest” for the criminal offenses of “Theft” and “Illegal possession of cold weapons.”

In the other case, officers from Police Station No. 6 arrested Sh. H. He is suspected of starting a fire on a plot of land he owned in the village of Prush. The flames spread across the village’s hilly area, burning pine trees, wild vegetation and other trees.

The arrests followed investigative and operational actions by police, carried out as part of measures to prevent arson and identify those responsible. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office for further action.
