United States President Donald Trump has declared economic war against Iran, warning that it will be the most devastating operation ever undertaken against a country.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that Iran failed to reach a deal with the U.S. and, as a result, will now face “economic war and isolation on an unprecedented scale.”

“This will be economic war and isolation on an unprecedented scale. Their navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are already in ruins, their currency is worthless, and their country is hanging by a thread,” Trump wrote.

He also warned that any country providing Iran with support through financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities will face “extraordinary economic consequences.”

“Any state that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities to provide any kind of support or rescue to Iran will itself face dire economic consequences,” he added.

The American president called on allies to join Washington in isolating and degrading the threat from Tehran.

No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a greater opportunity to reach a deal than I have. TRAGICALLY for them, they failed to seize it. Therefore, today, I am announcing the MOST DEVASTATING ECONOMIC OPERATION ever undertaken against any country!
