A tragic incident occurred in the village of Zhitom, Poliçan, where a 31-year-old man lost his life while work was being carried out to dig a water well. According to police, E. Gj., 39, a resident of Berat, was operating a bulldozer on the land of B. K., 31, when a mass of earth suddenly collapsed during the work.

The earth buried the 31-year-old, who died as a result of his injuries.
In connection with the incident, specialists from the Poliçan Police Station’s Section for the Investigation of Crimes referred the materials to the Prosecution against 39-year-old E. Gj. for the criminal offense of “Violation of workplace safety rules.”
The investigative team is continuing work to fully document the circumstances of the incident, while the procedural materials have been forwarded to the Berat Prosecution Office for further action.
