Toshkovski: The interpellation is politically aimed at obstructing the fight against crime and corruption

Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski believes that the interpellation submitted against him by Levica, which is part of the agenda at today’s parliamentary session, represents a weak political attempt to obstruct the process of cleaning up crime and corruption.

He stresses that through this move, Levica has once again shown that, knowingly or not, it is becoming the most useful ally of SDSM and DUI.

After Levica announced the interpellation, Toshkovski reacted on his Facebook profile, where he wrote that this is the third interpellation announced against him in less than two years. According to him, like the two previous cases, this one was also presented through a staged press conference, more as a cheap political performance than on the basis of substantive arguments.

According to Toshkovski, the interpellation is a democratic right of the opposition, which he says he fully respects.

“I have neither run away from debate nor will I run away from it. On the contrary, I will face the arguments where I should, in Parliament, publicly, before all MPs and before the citizens. There, everyone will have the opportunity to say what they think, and the decision will be made by the elected representatives of the people, in accordance with their conscience and responsibility. But I also cannot remain silent about something that has long been clear to the citizens. Levica has shown once again that, knowingly or unknowingly, it is becoming the most useful ally of SDSM and DUI. The same parties against which they built an image of being an alternative and promised different policies, today they are practically defending them through attacks on anyone who tries to establish order, accountability, and the functioning of the system,” Toshkovski wrote.
