Tomovski: Gostivar to Receive Three Trucks Carrying 76,000 Liters of Water, Tankers to Be Deployed if Needed

Three trucks carrying a total of 76,000 liters of drinking water will be provided today for Gostivar residents, while supplies will be increased in the coming days depending on demand. If the situation requires it, water tankers will also be deployed.

This was announced at a government press conference by Ivica Tomovski, director of the Service for General and Common Affairs. An epidemic has been declared in Gostivar following a significant rise in the number of people affected by gastrointestinal illnesses.

According to Tomovski, the government has been continuously coordinating its actions with all responsible institutions from the outset and is closely monitoring the situation regarding the water supply in Gostivar.

“The government has decided to provide citizens with drinking water every day for as long as the measures and recommendations of the competent institutions remain in force, in order to meet the population’s basic needs,” he said.

The water will be distributed at seven locations across the city: Gostivar Waterworks, Prolet Kindergarten, the Secondary School of Economics, the Shar branch of the National Forests public enterprise, the ESM branch near the garages, Gostivar General Hospital and the Gostivar Territorial Firefighting Unit.

Additional distribution points will be designated if necessary.
