Tomë Gashi: This must be the newly appointed chief prosecutor’s top priority

On Tuesday, Zejnullah Gashi officially took office as Chief State Prosecutor, following a decree signed by acting President Albulena Haxhiu, becoming the highest-ranking leader of the country’s prosecution offices.

Lawyer Tomë Gashi immediately reacted to the appointment, stressing that the first issue the new chief prosecutor should address is the case of Astrit Dehari.

In a post on social media platforms, Gashi described it as “the greatest injustice in Kosovo’s justice system” and called for Dehari’s death to be fully investigated and for the case to reach a final conclusion.

The top priority of Kosovo’s newly elected Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Zejnullah Gashi, who today began his term at the helm of the State Prosecutor’s Office, must be to confront the most blatant injustice in our justice system:

fully shedding light on and providing a final resolution to the case of Astrit Dehari’s murder.
