Tirana Municipality grants permits to install elevators in old apartment buildings

As part of the Community Fund Program, Tirana Municipality has granted three permits for the installation of elevators, as well as seven permits for the installation of external thermal insulation systems.

After regaining its powers, Mayor Erion Veliaj called for the creation of a task force to inspect the materials used in external thermal insulation systems.

The main focus will be on certifying their fire resistance.

For buildings benefiting from the Community Fund Program, the use of certified materials for external thermal insulation systems and compliance with fire safety standards are mandatory requirements.

The program finances 50% of the assessed cost of work such as elevator installation, roof terrace insulation and the installation of external thermal insulation systems.

Meanwhile, for pensioners and families receiving economic assistance, the Municipality covers the entire cost of the work, or 100%.

Tirana Municipality is calling on residents of apartment buildings seeking façade renovation, roof terrace insulation or elevator installation to submit applications to the Community Fund Program.

The Community Fund Program is one of the initiatives undertaken by Mayor Erion Veliaj to help residents improve conditions in apartment buildings and shared spaces.
