Tirana International Airport Hosts ACI EUROPE Regional Airports’ Forum for the First Time

Tirana International Airport (TIA) hosted the Airports Council International Europe Regional Airports Forum for the first time, bringing together in Tirana representatives of airports, aviation institutions and industry partners from various European countries.

At the opening of the forum, participants were addressed by representatives of Tirana International Airport, Airports Council International Europe and aviation institutions.

Mr. Maksim Et’hemaj, Director General of the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority, was also invited to the forum. He presented the challenges related to the growth of air traffic and the Authority’s strategic approach to operation safety.

One of the forum’s highlights was the presentation of the new publication “European Regional Airports and Community Engagement,” which examines how airports can build meaningful and long-term relationships with the surrounding communities.

Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operating Officer of Tirana International Airport, said:

The second day of the forum focused on the financial performance of European regional airports, the impact of national regulatory frameworks and the future of airport financing. The programme concluded with a visit to Tirana International Airport, where participants gained a closer look at the airport’s operations and infrastructure.

Hosting the forum in Tirana further strengthens TIA’s role in European aviation cooperation and places Albania at the centre of discussions on the future of regional aviation. /albeu.com/
