Three suspects were detained in the village of Korminjan in the Municipality of Ranillug during an operation in which goods with a preliminary estimated market value of more than 10,000 (ten thousand) euros were seized. The competent authorities will determine the final value after the relevant assessment procedures.
The operation took place under the “Operational Readiness 2026” plan. It involved a task force made up of Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Police, specifically the Regional Border Directorate – South. Acting on operational intelligence and in cooperation with police units, they intervened quickly and in a coordinated manner.

After intensive surveillance and the establishment of two police ambush positions, operational units identified and stopped three Rakovica tractors. The vehicles had improvised trailers and no registration plates. They are suspected of having entered illegally from Serbia, from the direction of the village of Konçul, using mountain and alternative routes toward Korminjan.
The three detainees are ethnic Serbs and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. They are suspected of involvement in smuggling goods across the border.
A detailed inspection of the vehicles led to the discovery and seizure of the following goods:
• 144 crates of Heineken, Tuborg and Zaječarsko beer;
• 250 kilograms of ground meat;
• 2 sacks of sausage;
• 324 live chickens;
• 2 professional printers;
• 2 large MikroTik network switches;
• 5 medium-sized MikroTik network switches;
• 6 computer monitors, 24 inches.
In addition to the goods, the three tractors and their trailers, which were used to transport the goods suspected of being smuggled, were also detained during the operation.
Operational and procedural actions were carried out in full coordination with the competent prosecutor. The Regional Investigation Unit of the Regional Border Directorate – South is handling and investigating the case.
Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Police say they remain determined and uncompromising in preventing and combating smuggling, cross-border crime and other unlawful activities that undermine the security, legal order and economic interests of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the institutions, operations like this demonstrate their continued commitment and readiness to monitor and effectively control the state border, as well as the importance of interinstitutional cooperation against cross-border crime.
