Three national heroes honored with special philatelic issue

Kosovo Post today presented a new series of postage stamps through its Philately Branch, dedicated to three martyrs of the nation: Tahir Sinani, Indrit Cara and Bylbyl Breçani. With their bravery, commitment and sacrifice, they made an essential contribution to Kosovo’s path to liberation.

Tahir Sinani was born in Tropojë in 1964 and brought to the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army his military experience gained in Albania. He became one of the most prominent commanders in the Pashtrik Operational Zone. With the end of the conflict in Kosovo, he served in the Kosovo Protection Corps, but his involvement did not stop there. He also took active part in the clashes in the Presevo Valley and in Macedonia, where he gave his life on 29 July 2001, near Gostivar.

Born in Kavajë in 1971, Indrit Cara also possessed military training from Albania. He devoted himself to the liberation war in Kosovo and fell heroically in a confrontation with the enemy on 31 March 1999, in the Pashtrik sector.

Bylbyl Breçani, born in Tropojë in 1974, fought on the Koshare front. During a mission to retrieve the bodies of fallen comrades, he was killed on 25 June 1999, precisely in that combat area.

Postage stamps represent more than a means of payment; they are living testimony to the history, culture and identity of a people. Through this issue, the memory of Tahir Sinani, Indrit Cara and Bylbyl Breçani is now engraved in the philatelic fund, passing on to current and future generations the values of courage, sacrifice and loyalty to the homeland.

The set contains three postage stamps and the First Day Cover. Kosovo Post calls on citizens, collectors and businesses to enrich their collections with this special issue, thus contributing to the protection and transmission of our historical memory and national values.
