Iranian authorities today declared three days off in Tehran for the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who ruled Iran for 37 years and was killed in Israeli-American strikes on the first day of the war, on February 28.
The funeral program calls for honors to be paid to Khamenei from July 4 to 6 and for everything in the capital to be closed, one of the organizers, Hassan Hassanzadeh, told state television. According to foreign media, Ali Khamenei will be buried on July 9 in the holy city of Mashhad, where he was also originally from.
