Three arrested in Fier for unlicensed weapons possession, police confiscate two firearms

Police have completed two separate operations within a 24-hour period in the Fier and Mallakastra areas, targeting illegal weapons possession.

Three citizens were arrested during these operations, while two pistols and a shotgun were seized as material evidence.

On the Fier Bypass road, during an operation called “Aksi,” officers arrested a 19-year-old originally from Vlora.

He is suspected of traveling while carrying a firearm. An inspection of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of a pistol.

Further investigation also led to the arrest of a 28-year-old passenger in the same vehicle. According to information, he was aware of the weapon and knew it was intended to be sold in the city of Fier.

Meanwhile, in the Mallakastra area, operation “Hidden Guns” was successfully concluded. A 38-year-old man living in the village of Lofkënd was arrested.

He is accused of threatening another citizen with a shotgun after a dispute that began over trivial motives.

During a search of the suspect’s home, officers found and seized an automatic Kalashnikov-type rifle and a double-barreled shotgun, which are believed to have been kept illegally. All case files have been handed over to the prosecution for further legal action.
